Is there any way to stop R6 automatically adding icons to your replicator page?

My best connection speed at home is currently 31K (it used to be 44K but British Telecom saw fit to reduce the line speed because "we only have to provide a voice facility"). Unfortunately there are no other connection options here.

Replicating large databases by phone takes so long that memory sticks are a much better option. But each time I remove an icon from the replicator page, it reappears as soon as the database is accessed. Worse still it appears on the replicator page ticked for replication! R5 doesn't do that & I'd love to stop R6 doing it, anyone know how?
